MELIKGAZI MUNICIPALITY HOSTS LITHUANIAN DELEGATION AS PART OF EUROPEAN UNION PROJECT
As part of the efforts to increase digital municipal services in the fight against climate change, a workshop on Digital Services was organized. A delegation of 15 people from Druskininkai Municipality in Lithuania visited Melikgazi Municipality to collaborate on enhancing mutual digital services.
Melikgazi Municipality Mayor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu, stating that they hosted the Lithuanian delegation in Melikgazi for the 2nd Workshop of the project, said, "Our municipality continues to serve as a model for local governments with the projects it implements with the support of the European Union. The 'Enhancement of Digital Municipal Services for Climate Change Mitigation - DigiEdu' project was one of the six projects selected out of 98 projects.
As part of the European Union Erasmus+ Adult Education Program, the project, which receives financial support, continues to foster collaborative efforts between Melikgazi Municipality and Druskininkai Municipality in Lithuania. In a project aimed at contributing to the fight against climate change, the increase in both the quantity and quality of digital municipal services, as well as the enhancement of their usage rates, is targeted. Additionally, the project aims to reduce human mobility and associated vehicle usage. I wish the project, prepared in collaboration with our foreign guests from Lithuania, success in its efforts to combat climate change, benefiting our district and country. Our municipality is a recipient of grants from the European Union for many projects. I extend my gratitude to our R&D Directorate for their efforts in this regard.
Officials from Melikgazi Municipality guided the European delegation through the Rubik's Cube Library and toured the municipality's departments, providing information about the projects and initiatives undertaken by the municipality.
