Starting from January 1, 2025, Melikgazi Municipality will make a significant change by reducing the allowed building height from 15 floors to 10 floors. With this new regulation, all permits in Melikgazi will be granted for buildings with a maximum of 10 floors, and the process for 15-floor buildings will end. The decision, which was unanimously adopted by the municipal council, will reshape construction activities in the area, including urban transformation projects. 

Melikgazi Mayor Associate Professor Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu, who stated that they aim to both preserve the city's aesthetics and ensure a sustainable construction process, said, "Starting from January 1, 2025, unless a technical justification is provided, we are reducing the allowed building height from 15 floors to 10 floors. From this date onwards, all permits in Melikgazi will be issued for buildings with a maximum of 10 floors, and the process for 15-floor buildings will come to an end. I consider this decision to be one of the most important resolutions passed by our council. The planning note has been approved by the Metropolitan Municipality. To prevent grievances, we will grant landowners and contractors who have made floor-for-land agreements until January 1, 2025, a period to obtain their permits. Those with such agreements need to obtain their permits for buildings with more than 10 floors as soon as possible and complete their procedures. If there are any grievances in the construction field or if there are technical justifications such as the presence of dark rooms, we will grant permission for buildings exceeding 10 floors. However, according to our calculations, 90% of Melikgazi can be adequately addressed with 10-floor buildings. Therefore, we do not anticipate any issues. We hope that the new era in Melikgazi will continue with the condition of not exceeding 10 floors in buildings. This decision will also apply to our municipality. Starting from 2025, we will permit a maximum of 10-floor constructions, including urban transformation projects. I see this decision as a milestone. I hope the resolution we adopted in our municipal council will bring good results," he said.
