Melikgazi Municipality continues its efforts to construct new, comfortable, healthy, and secure living spaces as part of urban transformation initiatives. The construction processes of 66 blocks and 2517 apartments are progressing at full speed.
Melikgazi Municipality continues its urban transformation efforts in Battalgazi, Kazım Karabekir, Anbar, Yıldırım Beyazıt, and most recently in Çorakçılar Neighbourhoods. Mayor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu stated, "Alongside our urban planning and development initiatives, we are persistently building the new Melikgazi. We undertake projects and services ranging from urban transformation to the creation of new social living spaces. A significant leap has been initiated in urban transformation in Melikgazi. New roads are being opened, and healthier, higher-quality buildings are being constructed. We are modernizing every corner of Melikgazi, building robust and resilient structures to shape the future of our city. Importantly, we manage this process through an on-site transformation model because we do not only view urban transformation as demolition and spatial renewal. While implementing urban transformation, we consider the socio-economic and socio-cultural development of our people. Since 2015, urban transformation efforts in Melikgazi have completed 80 blocks, and since 2019, construction and project processes for 66 blocks are ongoing. A total of 146 blocks have been or will be completed, with agreements reached after obtaining the consent of 3963 rights holders. In all areas where urban transformation projects are implemented in our district, on-site transformation has been applied. Currently, 6389 independent units have been realized in Melikgazi, providing a healthy, earthquake-resistant housing environment for approximately 32 thousand people. As a result of urban transformation efforts, we will continue to bring living spaces to Melikgazi with sufficient social facilities, solved infrastructure issues, and modern residential and commercial areas."

Providing information about urban transformation efforts, Mayor Palancıoğlu stated:
"In the first phase of Kazım Karabekir Neighbourhood, 39 blocks with 1984 apartments, along with all social facilities, have been completed. The construction of the second phase is ongoing. In Battalgazi Neighbourhood, urban transformation has begun for 23 blocks with 910 apartments, and the blocks are rapidly rising. The tender has been conducted for 17 blocks, while the remaining six blocks are in the tender stage. The second phase of urban transformation in Kazım Karabekir Neighbourhood consists of 20 blocks with 794 apartments. The first phase of urban transformation in Yıldırım Beyazıt Neighbourhood comprises six blocks with 228 apartments, and the blocks are near completion. In the second phase of urban transformation in Anbar Neighborhood, seven blocks with 223 apartments are in the tender stage. For Çorakçılar Neighborhood's Urban Transformation, we are in the negotiation stage for four blocks with 160 apartments. We continue to think big and transform big for Melikgazi. All our efforts for modern and comfortable urban planning are auspicious."
